About

What do you learn in Pre-IP (Year 10)?

While meeting the traditional subject requirements of the Japanese national curriculum for high school, students will also embark on a transitional year that will familiarise them not only with the case method approaches to teaching and learning but also act as a bridge to the knowledge and skills required for learning in each IP subject. (One example of this is in experiment methodology training required for the sciences). Students will undertake the Approaches to Learning Skills and Design Thinking course which provide vital thinking and learning skill development. There is also a Japanese Popular Culture course in which students will explore all those aspects of Japanese society which makes Japan unique in the world such as anime, kabuki and sumo wresting.
