Characteristics of the School

NIC is a co-educational boarding high school. The new school building and student boarding house, designed to provide a world-class education with excellent facilities and a rich natural environment, are situated on the beautiful 200-acre, wooded grounds of the Nagoya University of Commerce and Business, located in Nisshin City.

Education system

NIC welcomes students from a wide range of national and international backgrounds and implements early leadership education and succession planning in a diverse environment. The Harvard-style Case Method of teaching is incorporated into upper secondary school education, with small classes of 20 students directly supervised by multinational faculty members with masters or doctoral degrees and faculty from affiliated business schools. All classes are conducted in English (approved by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology as a special education school), developing leaders who can play an active role in the next generation while honing their internationalism and independence. NUCB International College is a candidate school for the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme**. It is pursuing full authorization as an IB World School for September 2023.

Boarding Education

With reference to international boarding school standards, the co-educational boarding life will be supported daily by a team of House Supervisors and House Mentors for daily life support, individual consultation and counselling. Through communal living, pupils learn the discipline and courtesy required of leaders in the context of diverse values.
