Language in the dormitory
The language in the dormitory room is free. Students are welcome to share their language with each other. Language outside the dormitory room is also free, but we ask students to keep your morals in mind. For example, if Japanese students are conversing with each other in Japanese, and a student who does not speak Japanese comes to the dormitory, you must immediately switch to English.
Are the rooms at the boarding house shared or individual?
The design of our dormitory is that every four students will share a room. Each room has private spaces and features wide windows to let the sun flood the room with natural light.
Is there a parking lot near the dormitory?
Yes, we have a lot of parking spaces on campus. When you move into the dormitory, you can carry your luggage by your car.
Can a student freely leave campus?
Yes, they are allowed to leave the campus on weekends but in this case, students need to apply for approval in advance. The safety of your children is our utmost priority so students are not allowed to stay out overnight and students must return to the dormitory before the set curfew time. Also, the dormitory is closed during the long summer and winter breaks and all students are required to return home.
What about meals?
Nutritious and balanced meals are served three times a day, at fixed times for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Allergies, vegetarianism, halos, etc. are taken into consideration when preparing meals for each student.
Do you have a dormitory floor only for women?
Yes. All female students are required to use the exclusive floor with high security. Also, the 3rd floor is the dormitory room for female students. Public spaces for students to communicate with each other are provided in the cafeteria and common areas on the first floor.
What is the management system in the dormitory?
Trained House Directors and House Supervisors will be on hand. House Mentors, who are IB graduates, will also be on hand to help and counsel students in their daily lives.
How can I do my laundry?
There is a separate men's and women's laundry area on the 1F of the dormitory, where drum-type washing machines and dryers are installed for students to do their own laundry. Additionally, a cleaning service is also available, free of charge, twice a month for the bedding.
Can I commute to school from my home?
No. NUCB International College is full boarding school with a gender-segregated dormitory in which students must reside. The dormitory is located on campus, adjacent to the classroom building. All students commute to school from the international dormitory on campus.
Do students have to share the shower room?
Each room is equipped with a shower room, and the four people in the room share one.
