Naoko Onishi

Biography

After graduating from the Aichi University of Education (majoring in Mathematics), Ms Naoko Onishi worked as a teacher and a systems engineer before taking up a full-time teaching position at NUCB International Junior and Senior High School in 2007. While teaching mathematics, she has also been the Director of Admissions and the Head Teacher.

Her days in California, USA (1998-2003) greatly contributed to her teaching skills for returning students (Japanese students who have lived abroad but moved back to Japan), and she was able to support many of them at NIHS.

In April 2024, she was appointed as a House Supervisor at NIC, while still continuing as a MYP/IB math teacher at NIHS. She is responsible for the students’ health care, life, and career guidance at the dormitory. In her own words: "I will do my best to ensure that all our students have a safe and fulfilling life!"
