Students have been practising Japanese archery (Kyudo) during the PE class since September and yesterday was the last lesson!
Asuka Naruse, an Ogasawara-style archer, was the instructor for the class, and the students have been practising under her full-scale instruction. All of the students started with no experience, but as the lessons progressed, they improved rapidly and are now able to powerfully shoot arrows up to the target at a distance of 28m.
The students were able to deepen their understanding of the Japanese traditional culture through martial arts while experiencing the pleasure of tackling something they had never experienced before and the joy of making progress.
