Yejin
Can you introduce yourself?
Hi, I'm Yejin! I'm 13 and a half years old and I'm a 7th-grade student.
Why did you choose to join the NIC Summer School?
I chose to join the programme because NIS is the only school I have attended my whole life and I wanted to meet new people. So far, I have met so many amazing people. Staying together for a whole week really allowed me to get to know them very well.
Which activities have you enjoyed the most so far?
On the second day, we went on a trip to Gifu and visited Magome Jyuku. I enjoyed the Scavenger Hunt we had there the most because I got to see amazing aspects and things of the Japanese culture that I have never seen before.
Which activity required the most effort to work together as a team?
My answer would be the UN SGDs: Design the perfect SDGs school's workshop. Because of the final presentation at the end of the Summer School, I got to work as a team. This activity helped me to build more confidence.
Finally, what advice would you give to a student thinking about joining NIC Summer School next year?
If you ever come to NIC Summer School, always be confident. At first, I was very shy to talk to others, but you can make many new friends if you can overcome this.
