Today the students participated in history class taught by Mr. Edwards. The content of lesson was about the task and role of a historian, including the questions: "what is the role of the historian? And what makes something historical?". The students viewed various artifacts found during an archaeological excavation which reveal a lot about the society they were studying. One of the most impactful aspects of the class was to see just how much passion Mr. Edwards has for his subject area, along with teaching in general; the class was truly captivated by his teaching style. The students were actively learning throughout the class and were encouraged to respond to questions, present their ideas, and participate in group work which led to deeper understanding of the lesson content. By the end of the class, students learned that it is important to research history using a variety of sources to gain a better and more comprehensive understanding. The NIC BP students are well on their way to becoming lifelong learners.
