NUCB International College Achieves IBO World School Candidacy for the IB Diploma Programme

NUCB International College is proud to announce that it has been approved as a candidate school by the International Baccalaureate Organisation for the IB Diploma Programme and is pursuing authorisation as an IB World School.

The International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme is widely recognised as the preeminent pathway for prospective high school graduates who are planning to continue their studies at the higher education level. Students who finish the DP coursework and achieve strong marks on the comprehensive exams often enter some of the most prestigious universities in the world.

IB World Schools share a common philosophy - a commitment to high-quality, challenging, international education - that we believe is important for our students. NUCB International College is a start-up school due to open its doors in 2022 and this represents an important step in the development of the school. Being able to set up a school from the ground up allows it to establish the most cutting edge educational and student support initiatives backed by recent educational research and achieving candidacy status represents an important step in this journey.

Principal Dennis Kelly is very excited with NIC securing its IBDP candidacy status, “From now, concurrently with the continuing development of the school buildings, we will undergo preparations to pursue full authorisation as an IB World School from 2022.“ I would invite interested students and guardians to watch this space for further updates regarding the opening of applications for our Summer Programme, Bridging Programme and the High School Programme and please take advantage of the scheduled consultation sessions should you require further information at this stage.”

Only schools authorised by the IB Organisation can offer any of its four academic programmes: the Primary Years Programme (PYP), the Middle Years Programme (MYP), the Diploma Programme (DP), or the Career-related Programme (CP). Candidate status gives no guarantee that authorisation will be granted.
