Let’s introduce another class: this is business management taught by Ms. Goh, which is a class unique to NlC. One of the benefits of NIC is that subjects like business management are closely aligned to Nagoya University of Commerce and Business’s course content. In this class, the students considered how COVID-19 affected economic activities over the last two years. The class was divided into groups, then given different categories which included environment, finance, economy, politics, technology, society, culture, and sporting events. The students discussed what impact each of these categories had on the Japanese economy and whether these impacts were beneficial or detrimental. Students considered how "global events" like COVID-19 can disrupt a country's economy, both positively and negatively, and how these changes affect the daily lives of its citizens. Business management can be challenging for some students, but under the guidance of Ms. Goh, students were able to grasp the main concepts of the lesson as well as engage in meaningful discussions. By the end of the Bridging Programme, students will be able to explain how events such as a global pandemic can impact a countries economy as well as the day to day lives of individuals. The pursuit of knowledge is evident in every NIC student and they are constantly inspired by their dedicated teachers.
