Spring into the Future with NUCB International College's Spring School 2023!

NUCB International College, a premier boarding school located in Nisshin City, Aichi Prefecture, is proud to announce its 4-day/3-night Spring School, taking place from March 25th to March 28th. This exciting event is open to junior high school students in their first or second year and international school students aged 13 to 15.

The Spring School offers students a unique opportunity to experience NIC's Arts Festival, participate in cultural activities and interact with current students. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to experience life on campus, participate in cultural activities, and delve into our unique education program. Our education philosophy blends the International Baccalaureate (IB) curriculum with the Harvard-style case method, fostering the skills of inquiry and problem-solving. During the program, we'll explore a topic that is relevant to the participants' daily lives, and engage in hands-on learning through discussions and activities. Don't miss this chance to learn, grow, and experience practical education at its finest.

NIC is renowned for its innovative teaching style, designed to produce future global leaders. The Harvard-style case method encourages students to read case materials, think critically, and participate in discussions, helping them to develop a well-rounded knowledge of various perspectives and problem-solving skills. Students have the opportunity to step into the role of the protagonist and ask themselves questions like, “What would I do if I were in this situation?” which helps them practice their discussion skills and gain valuable practical experience while making full use of the campus facilities. During the Spring School, participants will experience this style of learning firsthand by participating in activities and discussions on a relevant case topic.

Dormitory life at NIC is a truly unique experience, providing students with the chance to broaden their international perspectives by interacting with students from diverse backgrounds. During the Spring School, current students will organize evening activities in the dormitories, giving participants the opportunity to experience dorm life and communicate in English.

NIC is committed to nurturing world-class leaders, and providing an environment where students from Japan and abroad can come together to learn. The school is approved by Aichi Prefecture and the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) as an Article I School and conducts all classes in English, with the exception of Japanese language classes.

Excellence in Education

The case method, first developed at Harvard Business School in 1922 and now commonly used in elite academic institutions worldwide, is incorporated into the teaching approaches for leadership education at NIC. Small classes enable personalised supervision by multinational faculty members with master's or doctoral degrees and faculty from affiliated top business schools. In addition, the Summer School for prospective students (July) and a preparatory course (the Bridging Programme) for September admission are also offered.

The school provides a safe and secure co-educational boarding environment with reference to international boarding standards. 'House Supervisors', who are well versed in psychological and health management, provide daily support and regular individual counselling to ensure optimal support and guidance for each student.
