【Report】NIC's first Open campus

Dennis Kelly's welcome message to our guests

Yesterday, Thursday 29 April, NIC successfully held its very first Open Campus. For that Spring edition, all the safety measures have been taken to welcome students and their parents on-site, at our Nisshin/Nagakute Campus. The programme of the day started with an introduction to our school and a welcome speech from our Principal Dennis Kelly and our House director Toshikazu Shiozawa.

Following this, our guests were invited to witness a class of our very own GBBA program, Stakeholder Management. The purpose of the class observation was to get a first insight into the Case Method teaching approach, which will be implemented at NIC. Right after, participants were able to put into practice what they saw earlier with a Case method mock lesson taught by Dr Goi Hoi Chin. The class, which is specifically designed for junior high school students, allowed young learners - and their parents - to actively participate in the class. The Q&A session and individual consultations which followed the mock lesson allowed to clear up all participants’ doubts and questions about NIC programme details and features. Finally, our staff escorted our guest to the construction site of our boarding house and teaching facility.
