On Saturday, 13 April, NIC welcomed more than 50 guests at the Spring edition of its Open Campus.
The programme included an introduction to the School, its inquiry-based teaching style - the Case Method, the academic programme that will be on offer and the different career pathways that will be offered to IB DP students, domestically as well as internationally.
Following this, our guests were taken for the first time to a visit inside our facilities now completed - the School building and the International House. It was a great opportunity for all to see in person the beautiful architecture of our School and to experience the airy and relaxing atmosphere of its buildings. The 365-degree glass walls of the International House offered a panoramic view of the beautiful blooming scenery of our Nisshin/Nagakute campus.
After getting back to the classroom, our geography teacher and IB DP coordinator, Mr Gray, led the Case Method mock lesson. This time, a new case was introduced to our young participants: "Young Entrepreneur with a Dream, 2022" where they learned about a young American boy who started his own business to earn enough money to buy a Nintendo Switch. Similarly, students were challenged in small groups to think about a new business idea and deepen their thinking about business models and decision-making when in a group with a variety of perspectives.
Our last part of the event - the individual consultations was also a great success. Our staff did their very best to answer all of our guests' questions and offer the most personalized counselling.
Thank you very much again for your participation in this event. For those who were not able to attend this time, our next Open Campus will take place on Saturday, 4 June. If you would like to come and visit us, we also accept individual school tours upon request. We accept registrations here.
