NUCB International College, the premier Boarding School in the Asia-pacific region located in Nisshin, Japan recently hosted a Sports Day on November 11, 2022 to build communication and leadership skills among its students. This event was different from traditional Sports Days in Japan because the competitions created opportunities for students to work together and communicate while competing in a fun and friendly environment.
Students competed in many sports such as relay race, softball, dodgeball, and mini-games designed to test dexterity and communication. The event was a great success with students getting into the competitive spirit while also displaying excellent sportsmanship.
NIC is proud to have such talented and dedicated students who are committed to their studies as well as their extra-curricular activities. "We were so pleased with how the event went," said Principal Chaytor. "It was a great opportunity for our students to show off their athletic abilities while also learning to work together and communicate effectively. We're already looking forward to next year's Sports Day!"
“I really enjoyed Sports Day! It was so much fun! We had a lot of different activities to participate in, and it was just a great day overall. I'm really glad I went to a boarding school that had such a fun event like this.”
Another Year 10 student expressed their surprise and pride at their housemates for winning the dodgeball tournament that day. They had lots of fun and worked well together to formulate and execute various strategies. Their determination and resilience can be felt in their words "we'll definitely win again next year!" Students and teachers all enjoyed themselves and got involved in the different activities. Staff and students worked collaboratively together to organize and run this inaugural event, setting the tone and standard for future Sports Days at NIC.
