Who are you and what is your background?
I am Nancy Yuxin and I come from China.
What do you want to do after graduating from NIC?
I would like to be studying in the U.S, preferably pursuing a major in history.
What led you to choose Japan and NIC for your education?
It satisfied my need for boarding school so that I can be more independent, and the opportunity for studying Japanese, and the IB curriculum.
Did you have any apprehension regarding your new life as a boarder before coming to NIC? If yes, on what aspect? If not, why?
No, because I was in a boarding school before this already so I was not worried since I have experience with boarding school life.
What do you usually do in your free time?
I usually enjoy spending time reading, studying something I like, and hanging out with friends.
What is your favourite school subject and why?
My favourite school subjects are English, History, Japanese, Geography, and Math. I also like the case methods that we have in these classes at NIC.
What is your best memory so far and why?
I really enjoyed playing American football with my school friends during our engage program in the first quarter of our first school year (2022-23) along with Edwards-sensei who helped organize it.
What is the best advice you can give to anyone considering applying to NIC?
Time management is very important so that you are able to stay on top of all your responsibilities, both inside the school and the boarding house.
