On Sunday, 18 July, NIC successfully held its Open Campus. For that new edition, all the safety measures have been taken to welcome students and their parents on-site, at our Nisshin/Nagakute Campus.
The event got off with a good start with an introduction to our school by our staff, and a welcome speech from our Principal Dennis Kelly.
Following this, our guests were invited to a Q&A session and individual consultations. At NIC, we greatly value this moment where participants can discuss with our staff and clear up their doubts and questions about NIC programme details and features.
Our Case Method mock lesson took place right after. For this edition, our Geography teacher, Darron Gray, took us to the Caraibes with the case entitled "Montserrat, The Sleeping Dragon 1996." The case, which is specifically designed for junior high school students, questioned participants about the optimal evacuation solution of the Montserrat island, in anticipation of a dramatic volcano explosion. This workshop, which is also one of the key points of our event, allows students to actively get involved in the discussion and to participate in the class. Case Method is a teaching approach that will be implemented at NIC.
Following the class, our staff took our guests on a Campus Tour which included our sports facilities, and the construction site of our boarding house and teaching facility. For the first time, our guests were able to see samples of our school uniform.
